DDA Funding Reduction Update
As many of you are aware, the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) has announced an anticipated rate reduction of 2% across the board for DDA services effective July 1, 2026. While these changes present challenges for providers across the state, Chesterwye Center remains committed to maintaining high-quality services while positioning the organization for future growth.
Over the past year, we have worked diligently to strengthen our operations, improve efficiency, and plan strategically for the future. As a result, Chesterwye Center is well-positioned to continue expanding services despite the changing funding environment. I am excited to share that we continue to experience growth across several services, particularly in Day Services, Respite Services, and Personal Supports. Demand for these services remains strong, and we are actively preparing to welcome additional individuals into our programs.
In residential services, we are moving forward with the rebuilding of the Ringgold Home, with a projected opening date of December 2026. This new home will create four additional residential openings, allowing us to support more individuals in a community-based setting.
Additionally, we are preparing to welcome transitional youth beginning July 1, creating new opportunities for young adults as they transition into services and greater independence in adulthood.
While funding challenges require careful planning, my focus remains on growth, innovation, and fulfilling our mission. Chesterwye Center will continue advocating for the individuals we support while expanding opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the Eastern Shore.
Thank you for your continued support of our mission and the individuals we serve.
