Our annual Chesterwye Foundation fundraiser “Thank Our Lucky Stars” was held Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at Silver Swan Bayside, Stevensville, MD.
This year’s event was spearheaded by Co-Chairs Wheeler Baker and Kathy Dubel, with an all star volunteer committee. Special THANK YOU to committee volunteers Karen Clark, Kristen Taynor, Diane Creed, Wheeler Baker, Kathy Dubel. As well as special day before and night of volunteers Ana Byrd, Cathy Frey, Ashley Burl, Hayley Hauf, Sydney Archey, and Mary Mack.
The fundraiser is the principal fundraiser for the Chesterwye Foundation, an organization established to support the capital needs of the Chesterwye Center. The Foundation was established in 1982 by Dr. Harry Rhodes. The first dinner and auction fundraiser was held in 1978, and hosted by Thomas J. Ewing, owner of Holly’s Restaurant.
The event has supported many capital investments over the years including the renovation and building of several of our group residences.
This year’s event supports the re-building of the Ringgold home, which will be demolished and rebuild with modern layout, energy efficient building standards, accessible ramps, and wheelchair accessible bathrooms. The home will also be expanded from three to four bedrooms.
